Cold Weather Beauty Checklist
Posted on 11 November, 2019
Need a pick-me-up from the cold weather? Our beauty checklist will help you feel and look amazing even if the weather isn’t always what you want it to be.
Ah, the joys of snowfall, rain, ice, and all things winter.
Although November and December mean that the holidays are quickly approaching (yay!), it does mean that the weather can sometimes be a bit of a downer. It’s colder, your skin changes, your mood may even change. However, there are certain things that you can do for yourself in the winter that will help pick up your spirits!
At Elite Spa, we want our family and friends (you are all our family, in case you didn’t know) to always look and feel their best. So we have created our list of tips and tricks in one “Cold-weather Beauty Checklist.” See below.
At Elite Spa Group, we love nails! But, other than keeping your nails clean, manicures are great if your hands have become a little dry from the cold weather. A luxurious manicure is great for promoting healthy nails and uses products that make your nails strong, flexible and resilient. You can also go the extra mile if your hands are suffering from dryness and cracking my adding on a paraffin treatment. With a paraffin treatment add on, you can have your hands wrapped in warm, soothing scented wax and is excellent for relieving arthritic pain, dry, and cracked skin. You also get an amazing exfoliation and massage!
Keep calm and facial on!
Many of us do not want to wear a balaclava every day during the winter, but we should be protecting and taking care of the skin on our faces just as much as we do with other parts of our bodies in the cold weather. Facials are a great way to keep your skin hydrated and feeling amazing in the winter. We recommend a purity peel to combat harsh weather conditions. With Elite Spa Group’s beloved products, this indulgent facial delivers a combination of Glycolic and Lactic acid to improve dry skin, pigmentation, and fine lines. Glycolic has a deeper peeling action and is able to reach the existing pigmentation and stimulate the production of Collagen and Elastin. Lactic Acid is a larger molecule that assists in hydrating the skin but also has a mild bleaching effect reducing pigment as well. The skin is left with a beautiful soft glow.
Laser Hair Removal
If you have never had laser hair removal done before, you probably didn’t know that it is best done in the wintertime. The reason for this has to do with a variety of factors. One is that you are able to avoid the sun much easier in the wintertime. Overexposure to the sun can cause inaccurate laser settings, which can damage your skin. For example, if you naturally have a pale skin tone, but have gotten a slight tan from being in the sun, this will cause an inaccurate reading. Another important factor to mention is that following your laser hair removal appointment, you should keep your skin out of the sun for as long as possible as UV rays can cause damage to your skin.
Aside from beauty services or skin regimens, it is always a good idea to prepare for the colder weather with something warm. Consider purchasing some cozy new blankets, scarves, or hats. It is so important that we protect our skin from cold weather, just as much as we do in the summer with harmful UV rays. Scarves can be an awesome fashion accessory, but they can also protect our necks, face, and chest from the cold!
